A GRACIOUS GOD!

" And he prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is not this what I said when I was yet in my country? That is why I made haste to flee to Tarshish; for I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster." JONAH 4:2, English Standard Version 

In the many countries of the  world today, there is such thing as presidential pardon where high authorities exercise mercy on those who have violated the constitutional orders and regulations by acquitting them from serving the mandatory verdict of the country. This act place much reverence of these presidents who out of humanitarian gesture shows pardon. Some of them are celebrated from generation to generation and their names lives on. Indeed it is a good thing. How excellent humans can act lovely and sympathetically? Human who sleeps and vanishes the next minute. Man who gets sick and none can help. If all these can be done by mere mortals, could not the creator of the universe do beyond this? 

God is more concern about the life of human race than anything on earth. It hurts Him when a little soul perish. He wishes every human life to be preserved. All that he needs is change of the ways of man that perpetually sets him in destruction. That is why prophet Jonah was lamenting. A city that became saturated with a human race which had violated the purpose of God for their lives from the little ones to the great and according to divine justice of the universe, the city was supposed to be annihilated and condemned but the Lord show mercy. In this bible passage, the gracious Lord said he will pardon them because the entire city is ignorant of the consequence of how they were living. 
This is the case of many people over the world. People who are so drunk in the life of the devil are so ignorant that they believe they are living by their own right. But this is a great deception. You find in all works of life where people propagate the gospel of human right guaranteeing people to live anyway disregarding the righteous life of the creator. Today, as you read, the gracious God is waiting to show you mercy and pardon. He will forgive your ignorance and save you as He forgave Nineveh. 

PRAYER: Gracious Lord, I submit my life to you. I ask for you pardon on my ignorance and save me from destruction. In Jesus' name. Amen

RESPONDING TO GOD'S PURPOSE

" That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn't see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that." JOHN 3:36, TMB


If you have ever visited a porter's house you will see the kind of process a clay monument is subjected to until the desired artifact expected is made. Like the Japanese wood-fired pottery, it goes through steps not less that a week before it can perform that which it was made for. The emphasis I extract here is that anything that serves a certain purpose undergoes a process and every process has a starting point. One reality that I have seen these thirty years on earth as a factor for life functionality is the ability to know where to begin and the progressive course to take to the end. The ideal of what is first or where to start was seen when the Almighty Supreme being decided to create the cosmos. I believe He considered everything in details and finally took initiative to start with heaven and earth. Likewise, this virtue reigns as a catalyst in making human beings fulfill the purpose He has defined for them.
Today, in this generation of ours, the Supreme being is ready to restore whoever responds to His invitation to maximizing the purpose He has put inside him. Honoring this crucial invitation is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Remember that the creator did not restrict man from exploiting and enjoying the cosmos. Nonetheless, all humans must watch in order not to trample the glorious purpose which turns to become great wickedness on man's side. In Genesis 6, God allowed destruction upon the human race because of wickedness - neglect of  God's intent for human life. However, He still extends love to all people all over the world. Will you accept His kindness and grace to save yourself from the dangers of living a successful life without responding to this gracious purpose? Then, trusting Jesus Christ is where you have to start this glorious journey from.



PRAYER: Dear creator of human life, I thank you for your revealed directive as how to live for the glorious purpose for my life. I ask for your grace to locate me so I will humbly respond to your purpose.
